Nurturing Parenting/Children’s Program
A structured, nationally recognized community-based program that meets every Tuesday evening from 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm at a local church throughout the year. The program is designed to teach parents nurturing/parenting skills that improve social interactions with their children, as well as, to teach strategies that deal with the stress, anger and frustration which studies have identified as contributory risk factors for child abuse and/or neglect
School-age children who accompany their parents are enrolled in our Nurturing Children's Program which is designed to build self-esteem, self confidence, and empathy. The Nurturing Children's program also aims to teach children appropriate interactive social skills so children do not perpetuate negative interactions that may lead to victimization and/or may perpetuate the "abuse cycle" when they become parents. Childcare is provided for children under age four (4).
